Prudential Emerging Visionaries

High school students of any grade who already run a project, club, drive, or small venture that helps their community. If you started something and kept it going, this rewards the work you are already doing.

• Ages 14 to 18 at the time of application, and not older than 18 by the end of the entry period
• Legal resident of the United States or Puerto Rico
• Your project must have started on or before June 1 of the application year
• Individual applicants only; groups and partner teams are not eligible
• Previous Emerging Visionaries and Prudential Spirit of Community national or state honorees are not eligible
• Employees of Prudential, Ashoka, or the Financial Health Network and their children and grandchildren are not eligible

• $5,000 award for each of 25 winners
• An additional $10,000 for the Financial Solutions grand prize winner, for $15,000 total
• An additional $5,000 Prudential Employees' Choice Award for one winner
• An all-expenses-paid trip with a parent or guardian to Prudential headquarters in Newark, New Jersey
• Coaching and skills development to grow your project

• Online application submitted through the Changemakers platform
• Description of your project, the problem it addresses, and the impact so far
• Choice of category: Societal Solutions or Financial Solutions

• Start your project before June 1. That date is a hard eligibility rule, not a suggestion.
• Apply as a freshman or sophomore if you qualify. Almost no scholarship of this size is open to 14-year-olds, so the pool is thinner than it looks.
• Bring numbers. How many people did you reach, how many hours, how much money raised or saved. Concrete beats inspirational here.
• The Financial Solutions category has only five winners versus twenty in Societal Solutions, but the Financial grand prize is larger. Pick the category that genuinely fits your project.
• You cannot apply as a group, so if you built something with friends, be clear about your own role.

25 winners are selected each year: 20 in Societal Solutions and 5 in Financial Solutions. The program is the successor to the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, which honored more than 150,000 young people over 26 years. Applications are hosted on the Ashoka Changemakers platform.
